She Captured the Moon

She captured the moon by setting out a silver bowl of snow-melt water. When the moon was full and rising, she took the bowl of water to a glade of dandelions. As the reflection of the moon reached the center of the bowl, she traced an arc over the bowl to the horizon and back again. Covering the bowl with a crystal lid, she carried it back to her home, a dark cavern, where the light of the moon gave her a glittering white light by which to work her weaving and spinning and mixing of tinctures and other mysterious potions.
