Untethered

I find myself untethered when you’re not here. There are no roots, no gravity to keep me grounded, and the water, wave after wave, piles up like a snowbank, growing higher, a wall becomes a mountain of water. I climb the mountain and see over the horizon to where all of the stars are kept waiting. I find you there but you cannot see me, cannot hear me, for you are tethered to someone else.
