Sleep Mask

Each night he wears a sleep mask, not so much to block out the flickering light from the gas fireplace, or to avoid seeing his abstaining spouse, or to prevent the morning sun from waking him. The mask he wears keeps the visions from his dreams intact. Until he removes the mask and allows in the light of day, his dreams stay with him, filling his eyes with the shifting world he loves, where he can soar or run, the master of his domain.
