Small Things of Large Consequence

There is much to explore in the small things, much to discover and reveal. A small shell, abandoned by one life only to be taken up by a colony of ants as a trophy to add to their wall; a downy feather discarded by a baby bird as it takes flight for the first time and later that same feather discovered by another bird to build its nest where no eggs were laid; a copper penny absentmindedly dropped when keys were removed from a pocket only to have the shinny disk attract the attention of a toddler at just the wrong time so that she steps off the curb and into the path on an oncoming car.
