A Good Book

He picked up the book, which opened and chomped on his wrist. Howling in pain, he hopped around the antiquities shop, shaking his arm, and yelling, “Get it off, get it off!”

A fire extinguisher was found, deployed, the offending tome subdued and returned to its place on the shelf. The book continued to growl and the store clerks thought it best to close off that aisle for the time being until things settled down.

“I can’t understand what happened. He’s usually such a nice book. He’s never bitten anyone before.”
