There are certain universal truths, based on need. The need for food and water, air, sleep. Life is impossible without those. There are other needs, less easy to define, that are also impossible to live without. Art, beauty, love. The problem with truths is that if you approach them from the other side, they look entirely different. Hunger becomes greed, thirst becomes inebriation, breath becomes the need to steal that spirit from someone else. The need to know the difference, between the selfless and the selfish form, and the assurance that one in inherently better, more desired, makes all the difference in the world.
